The adventure began in 1894 with Giovanni and Domenica Orsolani, who opened the ‘Aurora Inn’ upon their return from America. While Domenica cooked, Giovanni worked in the fields and the cellar to produce the wine served at the inn. Their success caused the wine production to grow until viniculture became their sole business.
Today, Gianluigi is the fourth generation; he took the heredity of his father Francesco, added his philosophy of quality and respect for the land, and continues to innovate to make improvements. In 2009, the winery became nearly self-sufficient in its electricity use, thanks to the installation of a photovoltaic system. Countless prestigious recognitions have been awarded, such as membership in the ‘Grandi Cru d’Italia’ association. Everything began with the Erbaluce grape variety, which remains the favourite son here.
