Maria Luisa Monticelli, a psychologist-psychotherapist, has worked the grape harvests since she was a child in her maternal grandparents’ vineyards in San Giorgio Canavese and, since 2008, she has been restoring the vineyards and the historic home with her husband Stefano Desderi.

The very name Fontecuore evokes ancestral passions and distant memories; this project combines the product, its cultivation and the land. Careful respect for traditions come together with modern technology to bring back the austere personality of the Canavese wines. Created to welcome the visitor in a positive emotional atmosphere, the rooms are cooled for the tastings, and including the cellars and the guest flat, the cloister garth of the teaching farm, the eco-park with springfed lakes, the hundred-year-old trees, the natural turfed vineyards, the native flora and fauna, both wild and domestic, all in a splendid property with 11 hectares grouped together, are organically managed.
