Near the centre of the small town of Collina Torinese, a tree-lined lane leads to an old house that has been dedicated to Freisa di Chieri grapes since 1941 . Melchiorre, then his son Francesco, and now his grandson Luca: three generations are promoting the name of the wines of the area.
A visit to the wine cellar is also a chance to discover the collection of farming objects in the adjacent museum, as well as the room full of old toys. Since 2003, the company has been part of the ambitious recovery project for the Villa della Regina in Turin, devoting itself to replanting the historic sixteenthand seventeenth-century vineyard ordered by Cardinal Maurizio. This unique urban Italian vineyard, one of three in Europe, the other two being in Paris (Clos Montmartre) and in Vienna (Schönbrunn Castle). As of 2011 , Turin has its own denomination: Freisa di Chieri DOC “Vigna Villa della Regina”.
