The newest arrival on the Pinerolo wine production scene, this company has a short history but solid family traditions and three generations of experience. Grandfather Gepu d’Bert, father Beppe and uncle Mario Gasca produced wine in demijohns, as did many people in that area. Mauro Camusso, a professional quarryman, decided in 2010 to take the plunge and created l’Autin, dialect for a small vineyard.
The goal, using a team of collaborators, friends and famous professionals in the wine industry, is to offer wines with a strong regional value, making wine from native Pinerolo, Piedmont and forest grapes. Red wines, whites, rosés, a passito and a newly created Metodo Classico whose froth comes from the tunnels of the nearby talc mines of Prali. Their vineyards are cultivated without herbicides or chemical fertilisers, and it is implementing integrated pest management to reduce the use of antiparasitics.
